Given LOCWELD’s production layout, overall size and impressive crane capacity, we are an ideal supplier for your bridge construction projects. To demonstrate the scale of production output we are able to offer, some bridge projects have included the fabrication of steel girders measuring 147 feet in length and 10 feet high. A protective coating of metalized paint (used occasionally on our towers) is also used on our bridge structures. A few of our major bridge fabrication accomplishments in the Montreal area
include components for both the Champlain and Victoria bridges. . The Monk Bridge was detailed and fabricated in its’ entirety by LOCWELD and our company won a Structural Excellence Award in 2002 for this achievement in the Montreal area. LOCWELD also has a significant fabrication log of rail bridges for both the Canadian and US markets. Our welding crew is certified to CWB W47.1 Division 1 standards.
An orthotropic bridge deck is a section/component of a bridge structure to which a selected surface (concrete or asphalte) adheres to. These decks vary in length and width depending on location and are used as an efficient replacement tool for both large and small bridge surface areas. The deck sections are highly efficient, both in the fabrication and installation to help meet project schedules
